Today's recipe is one that I remember my mom making back when I was a child. This easy Beau Monde dip was one that she served at all the parties and get-togethersmy parents used to have. I really did no know what Beau Monde was until later and if you are wondering
What is Beau Monde?
Beau Monde is a spice blend that was made by the Spice Islands spice company. While you can read the ingredients - garlic, clove, bay leaf, nutmeg, and allspice, I have to say that I think it is a wonderful, delicious flavor combination.
I am enjoying the gatherings that allow me to connect with friends and family at this time of year. I hope that you are enjoying your celebrations. I want to share with you an oldie but goodie party dip recipe that is great for a game day, party appetizer or shower dish.
If you have never used Beau Monde, I encourage you to try it. I have a link below. This dill dip is great with chips and vegetables.
I loved it the first time I tried it because the dill flavor is wonderful! This dip is great with potato chips, pita chips, vegetables and even bread!
I love that this dip is a nice alternative to onion dips and it is kind of addicting, so you have been warned. I first posted this recipe back during the first year of the blog, but I have updated the photos. Thankfully, my photography has improved since I first started this blog.
I love this versatile dip!
I love that this recipe incorporates the lovely flavors of onion, dill weed, and other spices.

Never heard of this beau monde either! Can I get it at any supermarket here in SoCal? My favorite dip is the dill one my dad always makes, I'm not sure what's in it except dill and deliciousness!

Okay, I am not a good cook at all, but this looks like something I could actually do and be able to say "I brought something homemade!" SCORE!! I don't know what Beau Monde tastes like, but if it goes with chips and veggies, I'm in!

My mom has been making this for years. I have never seen a recipe for it or heard of anyone else making it until I saw this. The only difference is she uses real diced onion. We always eat it with cucumbers. It is yummy!!

I made this recipe back in the early 60’s.It was from either “Easy but Elegant” or “Come for cocktails, stay for supper”. The authors were Marian Burros and Lois Levine. Those books were our Bibles, in terms of cooking. I am still making some of the recipes.
I think the Beau Monde dip had a different amount of sour cream and mayonaide, but otherwise the same amounts of seasoning. Thanks for posting it.Reply
