I applied for the Bj’s Perks Elite credit card 3 weeks ago. I didn’t receive a letter of approval or denial within those 3 weeks. I was told by a representative that I should receive a letter within 7-10 days. Well even after those days past they told me to wait an extra week. I waited...still no card or letter. Then after trying to call them about an update they hung up on me or sent me to an automated system which then hung up on me seconds later. I then called again and they said they had no info of me ever applying even though I received a hard inquiry from Comenity Bank. They told me to reapply even if a hard inquiry was surely going to happen, I told them if I could speak to a higher up and I was told they had no other form of contact, they only had a P. O and no email email address! How doesn’t a bank have any other form of communication other than sending a letter, especially since they are extremely delayed. And by the way this all occurred whilst having an excellent credit score, I’m astonished and annoyed by this company lack of organization and professionalism. I’m 100% looking to get my hard inquiry removed or to get a card without reapplying, because I’m definitely not getting 2 hard inquires from them. So this review is to let you know you can apply for their card and they could deny ever receiving one even if the proof is in your credit report.

I wish I had read reviews before applying. I’ve only had the card for a few weeks. After a couple of uses it stopped working called and got it working again for one transaction and now it won’t work and when I call it says they are temporarily closed. What credit card company’s fraud department closes! This has been going on for a week and a half. I can not get through to anyone. So frustrating! All this before my first bill is even due!

We have the elite. My wife travels, so the price reduction on BJs gas is helpful, and rewards earning for her work. That is about it. The customer service from this company is not pleasant. I can count 2 times in the past two years I was treated respectfully when questioning charges or failure for the card to work. There have been security breaches, the card has been compromised/replaced 3 times. Sometimes the card dosen't work at a retailer, and Master Card can't explain why. There is a poor communication line between BJs Wholesale Club and their Mastercard program.
The monthly statement does not show membership/fee renewal date, does not show how many rewards have been earned YTD, very hard to see if it is accurate from the statement. Must communicate with BJs member care for corrections or information. If you express unhappiness with Mastercard for repeat issues, and the consideration that you may leave, they basically say Okay. They could care less if they keep BJs mastercard customers. Last month called in to question a charge, didnt know what it was. Mastercard told me it was an online purchase. They started a fraud investigation, and were about to shut down the cards again. I went through 3 different people, BJs customer care and back. Over an hour on the phone to learn that it was a pre pay checkout from my phone. Mastercard should know how charges are deemed from BJs, if it is an Elite member program. What a waste of time because they dont communicate. Never really experienced anything like it, but still have the card- getting rewards. It would also be nice to call into Mastercard and have the automated system NOT ask me to update my home phone number, and it can't be a cell phone number. We have not had house phones for 15 years. BJs, fix your relationship with Mastercard. It's broken.

I love the fact that you get the rewards taken out right at the register. I saved hundreds of dollars last year. I am the kind of person who pays my bill in full each month. 10 cents off at the pump is great too.
