I shouldn't have counted on getting a duck tomorrow;

My gate on the LHR - FRA now has me arriving on C05A.

Still departing to LAX from Z62.

Why not? You can either go to the FCL B via B transfer security or go through passport control (not very far from C05) and walk to the FCT. You may not have enough time for a shower but you can always ask for a duck. Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2009-2023 (retired) - FlyerTalk Forums (10)

The lower C gates (if your flight actually parks there) are separate from C13-16 gates which are miles away from anywhere. It's where United flights used to use and US Airways flights still use. I think it's more straightforward to follow the nearest Exit (passport control) signs and walk to the FCT. When you get down to the baggage claim level you don't have to go outside but walk under roof though you may have to cross a road as C and A/B are separate buildings. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

I fly from ABZ to JFK on Saturday via FRA all on Lufthansa.

Arrive into FRA at 8.30 local time with flight to JFK at 10.55

I know I get in to a Bus gate and leave from Z25, i have a question that may seem strange.... I am not a fan of trains of any kind... Is it possible to walk to my departure gate without using the Skyline train and how long would the walk take?

The only way to go from a B bus gate to a Z gate without using the Skyline train that I am aware of is to go through passport control, walk through the terminal landside, then go through security and passport control into Z. How long it will take depends on the length of queues at passport control in B and security in Z, but you should have enough time if that's your concern.

Flights from ABZ seem to arrive at A or B bus gates. If arriving at an A bus gate simply go up the escalator and through security at the top. However, for the last few days at least LH975 arrived at a B bus gate, and it's either the Skyline train or passport control twice.

Thanks for the reply.... will prob just bite the bullet and use the sky train as dont want to risk waiting in too many queues. Is it fairly simple to get to the sky train, signed etc significantly faster?

Sorry for the same sort of posts.... in my mind this is how it works....

I get to Frankfurt and I am the only person in there going to my gate.... everyone else is deaf/mute and the airport is an endless criss cross of unsigned corridors all leading me away from where I want to go.

From the bus arrival gate go up the escalator and when you get to the top follow the signs for Z gates. This will take you to the right of passport control booths and a corridor to the bottom of the escalator taking you up to the Skyline train platform. The train leaves every 2-3 minutes and takes less than 2 minutes to T1 Z. There is security check somewhere on the way.

Frankfurt Airport is actually very well sign-posted. I will post some photos later. If you can read the alphabets and numbers, there's no need to talk to anybody to find your way around. Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2009-2023 (retired) - FlyerTalk Forums (26)

Friday, Nov. 29
Route: VCE-FRA-JFK, all on LH

According to LH website, we're pulling into Gate ASO then our connecting flight will be at Z25. I can't find Gate ASO on the terminal map. Where is it in relation to our connecting gate? What security/passport controls will we expect to encounter while in transit. We have a 2hr connecting time.

Thanks for the help and reassurance.

Hope everyone is having a great thanksgiving!

Welcome to FT, leckerpansen, and thanks for the comprehensive list. ^

As far as I understand all A bus gates are near where the old pier A/Z and pier A+/Z meet and are quite central especially for Z gates.

Arriving from VCE and departing to JFK, there is no need to clear security but xflyery will have to go through document check and passport control.

FRA is a large and badly planned airport but if you can navigate your way around LHR you shouldn't have any problem finding your way around FRA. I have tried to find suitable photos of FRA out of my collection of 500+ on flickr but some are out-dated and do not mention anything about Z gates. More recent ones were taken outside security as I started exploring parts of FRA I hadn't seen before. Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2009-2023 (retired) - FlyerTalk Forums (38)

If you are interested here is my collection. Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2009-2023 (retired) - FlyerTalk Forums (39) You will see at least that there are plenty of signs to guide you.
