Nice place Overall
Very nice campground, big spaces. Generally quiet besides barking dogs (as usual). Very close to a very nice beach. The drinking water seems to contain salt and does'nt washoff soap (very annoying). There is a 10% rebate for seniors (55 up) but they will not give it to you if you forget to ask, which is a bit cheap on their part.

Fun For Kids And Some For Adults
Came for a week. Was raining a bunch and didn’t have the nice site with concrete slab to park in but the site wasn’t too bad. Pretty tight sites but typical for these RV resorts. Ton of activities for the kids and the pools are great. All the kids in the pools were respectful and all played well. Ice cream shop fills up quick but worth it. They have many planned activities and if you are bored then it’s your fault. They have an 11pm quiet hour rule but it is not enforced at all. People are setting fireworks off all over the campground well into the midnight hour. They state that only licensed drivers are to operate the golf carts but teenagers are reckless and inconsiderate driving them. The security is good at keeping the gate covered and locked down but there is no enforcement in the campground even if they are called.

Plenty Of Things To Do And People To See
Stayed mid July and it was about 98% occupied. This place has been around since ‘59. Over all it is what I expected. There a Lee a lot of golf carts on the property. If you are not an annual lease holder you have to rent from a third party on site at what I think is a decent weekly rate. Nice pool area with water slides for adults and kids with A lazy River. 3-4 ponds for fishing. Have up to date daily activities for all ages. Large laundry mat, store, fast food. Bath house near us was outdated. Great access to the beach. As for noise levels it was no more than any other campground. They had “patrol” out late looking for underage drivers (<16 driving carts). The outdoor pool for the entire campground has approx 120 chairs on the deck. It is crowded. Over all pleased with the campground. We would come back.

Never Again?
This place wanted to charge me $6 to tell me what site I was on after already paying for the site online when I called and ask them. Some friends where camping there the same weekend and we just wanted to look on the map to see how close we were to one another. they wouldn't tell us say we had to pay a $2 a day fee for that information before check in, didn't do it.They also won't allow you to bring your personal golf cart, you have to rent one from them. It's a money racket nickel and dime you to death there never go back again.

Ridiculously Loud
Beautiful grounds and the staff are great. However, if you are looking to really camp and relax, Lakewood is NOT the place. Fireworks bursting off almost every night from 7, 8 PM until after midnight. Scares the dogs, no one sleeps. Teenagers riding around in golf carts playing Rap music as loud as it’ll play, no supervision. Camp sites are crammed in like sardines. This is really a massive glorified trailer park, not a campground where the rules are enforced. I cannot imagine how nuts this place will be in the Summer. We will not be back.

Full Time Newbie
We are at Lakewood now after 3 weeks at Ocean Lakes just down the road. We had to leave Ocean Lakes because they had every spot reserved for Thanksgiving week. Lakewood was able to give us a spot even a day early! And they offered to move us closer to the beach. Sites are a little closer than we prefer, but all in all no complaints. Plenty for everyone to do...from walking on the beach to getting Thanksgiving dinner! Laundromat is clean and everyone that works here is very friendly. Very high ranks from us.Due to a pending slide out issue, and waiting on parts for that repair, we were ever so grateful to find a site near where the repairs will be made. Thank you to the front office staff for such gracious Southern hospitality!

Family Fun, Pay For Amenities Not Site
Great park for family fun without leaving campground. Beach, pools, activities, food, it's all here. Know that sites are not paved, gravel, or level. Quiet hours don't seem to apply outside of park control, which includes the beach. Fireworks and music from beach can go looking into the night. Some bath houses better than others, but they are easy to get to more than one. Golf carts run crazy so beware if you're walking or walking pets. If you're wanting a loud, teen fun park, paying for everything outside your site and bathhouse, this is great. If you're not going here to specifically enjoy the amenities with kids, you should look elsewhere.

Great place for families. Enjoy your vacation without feeling like you have to go other places to keep the kids entertained. Big bathrooms with private showers.

Great Resort For Families
We took the trip down from Fayetteville and we were happily surprised. This place literally had everything you could want, a full water park, massive beach front access, 3 places to get food, an arcade, free boat and bike rentals. As well as miniature golf. All on site and all included in your lot fee. We loved it and will definitely be back next year. The parks charming. The only downside was that the lot we had was on a decline and we couldn’t get our travel trailer high enough up in the rear to properly drain the sewage, all in all though it was amazing. Stop looking book now.

Great Camping
We were here for my grandaughter s spring break. I have never been a fan of the beach but at 84 it was comfortable and great place to be. My granddaughter had a ball. I would recomend this park. All the amenities Were close and very affordable. Love this place.

Great Place
Stayed late September, staff was very friendly and helpful, even let us switch sites when we got there. Even had a big bbq event the weekend we were there. Fall golf cart rates were very reasonable. Wish there was more than 1 hot tub! Our site didn’t have a fire ring, had to buy one just to be safe but don’t think they’re required.

Love It
We camped here the end of January 2018. We only booked for 4 nights but we extended our stay to 11 nights. Sites are close but doable. We were right on front row looking at beach. Easy access to beach. Nothing was open so I can’t rate on the activities but I am sure by the looks of it the kids would have a blast here. All the snowbirds were very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Security does ride around all day. I am trying to figure if I can make another trip down next month. Also may stay with the snowbirds next year for a couple months. We checked out the other campgrounds in the area and we like Lakewood the best. Definitely will come back.

Family Friendly
Great stuff for the teens to do. Sites are to close but tolerable. The bath houses are ok but should be cleaned more often. The staff is friendly and the location is great. The big isses are the cigarette butt's and kids running around in the golf carts.

Great Campground
We camp at the beach every year and have been to several of the campgrounds including ocean lakes, Apache and Lakewood. Lakewood is the most family friendly and has many activities and things to do for the kids. New water park is great. Campsites are nice. Wish you could bring your own golf cart.

Visited Lakewood the first week of April in 2017 for Spring Break. We booked as a last minute trip and spent the week four sites from the ocean. The campground was clean and well laid out. All the staff were very friendly, especially Mary in the Coffee House! We plan to go back in June when the ocean is warmer and the water park is in full swing. Great place for families!!!

This was my 1st time coming to Lakewood as I have always went to Ocean Lakes as I was growing up with my family..overall very impressed, seems very safe for kids to explore, security guards ride around of golf carts regularly. Also they now allow you to bring your own golf carts in which from what I heard you couldn't in the past unless you were a permanent resident. I would definitely bring my family back

We love this campground. We have stayed at several campgrounds at the beach and have ended up with this being our favorite. So much to do we don't even have to leave! The kids love it also.

Love This Place!!
We came here for spring break & even though it was cold we had a blast! There is so much to do & I was shocked that ALL IMMUNITIES were included!! My kids got to ride bikes, canoes, paddle boats, play at the water park, swim in the indoor pool & so much more was all included for $53! And we were right there at the beach! We will definitely return!

Nice Variety
Really nice sites, shady sites, sunny sites and sites near the beach. Lot of things for kids to do. Campers mostly nice while we're here. Well maintained and overall a very good campground. Only thing keeping from 5 stars is that at check in, the efficiency could be accompanied by a little southern hospitality. A smile and welcome would not hurt. Of course that is 10 minutes out of a 4 night stay.
