Approved for Amex Hilton Honors Card BUT no SUB
I did the "check to see if you're approved" SP application for the Amex Hilton Honors card with a current 80k point SUB and got a message that, while approved, I would not be eligible for the SUB due to my previous "habits" with opening and closing cards with them (verbatim).
For reference, I opened a Gold card and a Delta Gold card last year. I also recently applied and was approved for the Everyday Preferred card with a 15k point SUB which will serve as my replacement for the Gold card as I cancelled both it and the Gold Delta card last week. Didn't need the Gold with the new fee with "extras" that did nothing for me and replaced the Delta Gold with the Delta Platinum. That said, I had no idea they would withold a new SUB at their discretion becuase I closed two cards I no longer needed (and because I took a SUB on both of those). Does anyone know how long they will keep me in "SUB jail?" Been a member since 2004, so kinda surprised they opted to do that.

Re: Approved for Amex Hilton Honors Card BUT no SUB
Congrats on the approval but sorry you're in SUB jail
Don't know if there's adefinitive time frame that's been reported for if / when you'd be back in their good graces. I'm guessing at least a year?

Re: Approved for Amex Hilton Honors Card BUT no SUB
No set time frame but they certainly don'tlike being used for subs and closed. Make sure you put spend on other amex cards if you still have any as that will help but could be 6 months could be years. As obviously you want this sub as well on the card they aren't offering they are still willing to offer you credit but realized your previous habits. Many people have been in sub jail before including myself and it is lifted based on many things such as mentioned above. Now I always pay at leasttwo AF's with Amex before I cancel them to try to avoid this scenario. I have been a member since the early 90's. Member since means nothing with the RAT = rewards abuse team and is clearly spelled out in their TOS on credit cards.

Re: Approved for Amex Hilton Honors Card BUT no SUB
I was in PUJ and got approved for these Hilton no lifetime language offers on DoC a few months back. I've already collected on one of the subs so I can confirm that it works if you do not get a pop-up.
The vanilla HH is still alive for 80,000k points but the other links are dead.

Re: Approved for Amex Hilton Honors Card BUT no SUB
Appreciate all the feedback! This is helpful. I do spend quite a bit on my Amex accounts and pay off each month, so hopefully it counts for something. I did that on the Gold and am using the Everyday Preferred as my go-to for daily spend now. Only one I didn't do much with was the Delta Gold, but I also upgraded to the Delta Platinum and put a good bit on it, too. I just didn't need both and didn't realize the fees were going to increase so much when I got the two Gold cards.
Live and learn. I don't guess it will take long for them to release me, though.
