WH Questions with Real Pictures (1)

I work with students ages 3 through 2nd grade. I feel like I target WH questions every single day (probably because I do!). I made these awesome grab and go WH question materials using real pictures.Check it out!

WH Questions with Real Pictures (2)

This packet targets who, what, when, and where questions. Each card has 2 picture choices. There are 20 cards for each WH question type.

WH Questions with Real Pictures (3)

I also included card deck covers! The symbols on the covers shown below are shown in the upper left corner of every card. The symbols also match the included posters!

WH Questions with Real Pictures (4)WH Questions with Real Pictures (5)

I included 2 posters for each question type. One is simple and contains the WH question word, the symbol, and a basic explanation. The more complex poster gives sentence starters and examples of how to answer each question.

WH Questions with Real Pictures (6)

Because I am constantly trying to take more (and better) data, I included simple progress monitoring forms for each WH question type.

WH Questions with Real Pictures (7)

Once your students demonstrate increased knowledge of each targeted question type, they are ready to move onto the pages shown below. I included 10 of these generalization pages that contain 1 real picture on the top and 4 questions (with the same symbol supports) on the bottom.

WH Questions with Real Pictures (8)

I keep those in the back of my WH Question Interactive Binder.

Click here to check out the product in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. In total, it is 67 pages of awesome, versatile WH question material!

{thanks for reading}

    This product is a great tool because the binder rings make it so accessible. These are great for developmentally delayed language kiddos as well as cognitively impaired and autistic. The photographs make the product “real” for the kids, and therefore more engaged. The posters with pics explain the concepts for kids that need visuals. For the therapist that doesn’t always know exactly where she will be doing therapy day to day (outside, picnic table, floor, closet, library,cafeteria…I kid you not), these are great to throw in my bag of tricks when I am being itinerant. Thank you!

    It looks like you’ve done a great job of differentiating the material, nice visual supports, lots of opportunities for guided practice and generalization, and you’ve broken it down nicely for those kids who really need explicit instruction in this skill- it’s going on my wish list for materials I’ll be assembling the summer.
