Gear disclaimer for Vengeance Demon Hunter
While there are some possible goals you can aim for as a VengeanceDemon Hunter, there will always be conditions. Defensively, an item with ahigher Item Level will almost always be stronger than a "better" item with alower Item Level.
Offensively, however, you might find situations where an item with a loweritem level or stats that you would not think is your best item. And unless youhave every item on the lists below, you might find that several of these itemsare not the strongest item for you.

Embellishment Recommendations for Vengeance Demon Hunter
In Season 4 of Dragonflight, you will be able to use Spark of Awakeningto craft gear up to Item Level 525. Some high-priority items are special Embellished gear, which have special effects. Below is a general list of things recommended to craft.
- The first item you should be looking to craft week one is a pair of
Life-Bound Bootsinfused with a
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch.
- Your second Spark should be sent on
Life-Bound Bindings infused witha
Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch.
- Once you have your two embellishments, you will want to craft slots where youcan get a large item-level upgrade. Consider putting a
Alchemical Flavor Pocketon a low-budget item like Waist or Cloak.
- Later in the Season, when you have gotten gear with sockets in most slots wheresockets are available; you can consider crafting an
Elemental Lariat to use togetherwith
Life-Bound Bindings if it gives close to the same damage for a smallamount of extra defensive value.

Best Items to Upgrade for Vengeance Demon Hunter in Dragonflight Season 4
There are a few items which will serve as noticeable upgrades for Vengeance, the main ones being Stormslash,
Thorncaller Claw,
Seal of Diurna's Chosen and any of the Trinketsoutlined in the section below. These are your best bet for an earlyupgrade. Beyond these, you will want to focus upgrades on tier set items,as they are something you will be wearing the entire patch.
Stormslash is a Warglaive weapon that drops in the Nokhud Offensive dungeon. The weapon has a passive effect that contributes slightly more damage than otheroptions. It is rarely worth dropping item level to equip this weapon in eitherweapon slot.
Thorncaller Claw is a Fist Weapon from The Council of Dreams inAmirdrassil. It offers a passive damage effect that far outscales the slightloss of stats on the weapon itself.
Seal of Diurna's Chosen is a Ring from Eranog in Vault of theIncarnates which offers a free damaging proc that has a chance to activate fromany Fire damage you do. This is a lot of damage completely for free, makingthis ring by far the most powerful option available.
7.
Trinkets
Since Vengeance is a tank specialization, you will have to consider yourtrinket choice based on the content you are doing. If you want atrinket that increases your damage or something to help you defensively, itwill change what you are looking for. Below are some recommendations from TheAmirdrassil Raid and Mythic+, as well as what the use cases for thedifferent trinkets are.
7.1.
Trinkets from Awakened Raids
Cataclysmic Signet Brand, is a trinket that drops from Smolderon in Amirdrassil. Itdeals damage to you and your target, increasing with each activation up until youreach 15 activations in a row when the damage radiates to nearby enemies. Leavingcombat makes the stacks decay over 15 seconds until they completely disappear. An incredibly strong trinket if you can maintain the stacks for a long time, otherwise, it will still be a good option.
Pip's Emerald Friendship Badge is a trinket from Council of Dreams.A passive trinket that cycles between Mastery, Critical Strike, and Versatility, starting at a large amount after each switch and diminishing over 12 seconds. A decentpassive option for damage in situations with multiple targets.
Fyrakk's Tainted Rageheart is a trinket that drops from Fyrakk. ThisTrinket at first appears like a defensive trinket, but the shield is mostlydepleted by the self-damage. The passive damage effect and the damage from theeffect might possibly make it an offensive option for Mythic+ dungeons withlarge pulls.
Elementium Pocket Anvil drops from Amalgamation Chamber in Aberrus. Itoffers significant single-target damage in Raid situations where you use asignificant amount of
Soul Cleave. It underperforms in situations whereyou are not using
Soul Cleave as much, making it a weaker option inMythic+.
Storm-Eater's Boon drops from Dathea in Vault of the Incarnates. Itis by far the strongest Trinket in situations with more than one target, so muchstronger than with enough targets, it will be stronger than any other trinketscombined. However, the 10-second root means that you are in incredible risk ofbeing hit by mechanics you have to move from, killing you. Only use this Trinketif you know that you can do so safely.
7.2.
Trinkets from Mythic+ Season 4
Prophetic Stonescales is a trinket from Dawn of theInfinite, and can drop on Mythic 0 difficulty. A passive Cheat Death trinket, which allows you to survive dyingonce every 8 minutes, healing you for a large amount, and giving a burst ofHaste and reducing damage taken from the enemies that killed you by 20%. Evenwith the lower item level, it is still a very solid option for dangerous content.
Treemouth's Festering Splinter is a trinket from Brackenhide Hollow. A90-second on-use Trinket that absorbs half of all damage you take for 15 secondsor until a massive shield is depleted. In many situations you can use this Trinketas a substitute for a defensive cooldown, making this a very powerful trinket.
8.
Tier Set
With Amirdrassil, a new tier set arrives. For Vengeance, these are Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 2pc and
Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pc.Both set bonuses are decently strong, especially
Demon Hunter Vengeance 10.2 Class Set 4pcin situations with many targets, where it will give you a massive amount of extra
Soul Fragment.
